Newcastle 500 - What does it mean for Newcastle?

Well what an amazing weekend for Newcastle!

The Supercars event came with great expectation, and from all reports, Newcastle well and truly delivered! This was highlighted by nearly 200,000 people attending the event over the 3 days.

The exposure for Newcastle via the media was enormous, the amazing scenes over the coastline, harbour and city were breathtaking. The response from business owners has been mixed but I feel the majority acknowledge the positive impacts for our city.

How many people who visited Newcastle for the first time will come back? Maybe an extended holiday? How many watched the telecast and now want to come and visit?

It is no secret that the building construction industry in Newcastle is strong. Educational institutions are locating to the inner city, and business confidence remains high.

So what impact do you think this will have on property prices? What opportunities are there for investors and developers? What risks and threats need to be taken into consideration?

Maxim are holding their property and economic event on Thursday 7 December at Fort Scratchley, where we will hear from property expert, Chris Chapman, Managing Director of Colliers International. We will also hear from Greg McKenna on current indicators and future forecasts for the local economy.
